Katrin Werken, M. Ed., studied German, English and Mathematics (Bachelor of Arts/Master of Education) at the Faculty of Human Sciences at the University of Cologne (2014-2021). In her master thesis "The Potential of Classroom Discourse - Analysis for Teacher Professional Development in English Language Teaching" (grade: 1.0) she brought together the linguistic-empirical approach of conversation analysis with aspects of (foreign) language education for the practice of teacher education. From 2020 to 2021, she worked as an academic research assistant at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Cologne's Department of German Language and Literature, where she was involved in a project of the German research foundation (DFG). Since 2021, she has been a project assistant in the PreTAD project with Dr. Carolin Schwegler at ceres.
