Dr. Jaroslava Zimmermann studied sociology at the Comenius University in Bratislava (SK). After her graduation, she was working as a research assistant at the Institute of Medical Sociology, Health Services Research, and Rehabilitation Science at the University of Cologne. As a doctoral student and research associate within the scope of the NRW Graduate School GROW, she dealt with the organizational determinants of care quality in nursing homes. Since 2019, she works at ceres as a research associate in the projects NRW80+ and D80+. Her particular research interests lie in the following topics: inequalities in health and utilization of health/nursing care services; social, socioeconomic, and environmental determinants of health; regional analyses; quality of life in very old age.
