Aileen Berghold, M.Sc., studied health economics at the University of Cologne. After her studies she worked as a research associate in clinical retinal research within the study group CIRCL (Cologne Image Reading Center and Laboratory) at the Center for Ophthalmology of the University Hospital of Cologne. Since July 2020 she is a research associate at ceres (Cologne Center for Ethics, Rights, Economics and Social Sciences of Health) at the University of Cologne and the Research Unit Ethics at the University Hospital of Cologne. Here she works in a research project on the role and significance of technology companies in the health care system. Her particular research interests in the field of health sciences lie within the context of gender research as well as ethical and sociological questions at the beginning and end of human life.
